Pui Chun Lai New York, NY – Pui Chun Lai, 102, of Chinatown, Manhattan, NY passed peacefully into eternal life on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at NYC Health in Manhattan. Born on April 6, 1922 in Guangzhou, China, she lived in New York City for many years and was the beloved wife of the late George Lai and mother of the late Paul (Mary) Lai and the late Timmy Lai. She worked as a seamstress in Chinatown for many years until her retirement. She was a devout Christian and dedicated member of The First Chinese Presbyterian Church in Chinatown. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Susie Lai; eight grandchildren, Vincent (Agnes) Lai, William (Mimi) Lai, David (Angela Cheng) Lai, Edward (Mia) Lai, Cynthia (Shigenobu) Morinaga, Christina (Mark) Lai-Sun, Jennifer (Davide) Lai-Simone, Andrew (Alvina) Lai; sixteen great grandchildren, Samantha (Nicholas) Dubois, Alexandra (Joseph) Tang, Benjamin Lai, Justin (Jolene) Lai, Skylar (Jerray) Chang, Grace Lai, Megan Lai, Ethan Lai, Mason Morinaga, Madison Morinaga, Emma Morinaga, Evan Sun, Emily Sun, Devon Lai, Olivia Lai and Courtney Lai; 2 great great grandchildren, Eden Tang and Estelle Dubois; a niece, Lin Yau Chow; 3 grandniece's, Susan (Anthony Malgioglio) Chow, Sheila Chow and Sandra (Jeffrey) Chang; and 2 great grandnephews, Matthew Malgioglio and Nicholas Chang. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 10th from 11am until 12noon followed by funeral services at 12noon at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State Street, Schenectady. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Schenectady.
