Pyong Yon Deweese, age 75, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025. Born on April 8, 1949, in Kyonggi-do, Korea, to Sang Yi and Chae Yi, Pyong lived a life full of love, humor, and deep faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sang Yi and Chae Yi, and is now reunited with them in peace. Pyong leaves behind her devoted husband, Robert Deweese; their beloved daughter, Lena Quinn; two brothers; and many cherished relatives, along with a close-knit group of friends from her church community.

Pyong was known for her fiery personality, which she balanced beautifully with a warm and caring nature. Her sense of humor was infectious, bringing joy to everyone she met. One of her greatest gifts was making those around her feel loved and valued, especially when it came to food. Whether hosting a meal or offering a listening ear, Pyong's selflessness and compassion knew no bounds. She always put the needs of others before her own, constantly worrying about her husband and daughter until the very end.

Her mornings were sacred-starting with a cup of coffee, a moment of quiet time reading her Bible, and a kiss from her loving husband, Robert. When days were tough, Robert would serenade her with "You Are My Sunshine," always managing to bring a smile to her face. One mischievous memory that her family will forever cherish was when Robert bought a new hat. Pyong, in her playful way, decided to "borrow" it for a while, only to later return it to him as a thoughtful gift. It was just one of many examples of her thoughtful nature and ability to bring fun and joy into every moment.

Every evening, Pyong and Robert shared the simple joy of watching Walker, Texas Ranger together, a tradition that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Pyong was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and never missed a game on TV. Her love for the Cardinals was as unwavering as her love for her family. When she wasn't cheering on her team, she could often be found tending to her garden or watching her favorite Korean soap operas. She also found peace and joy in watching the hummingbirds that visited the feeder in their backyard-a little slice of serenity she shared with Robert.

Pyong's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found strength in her daily devotions. Though she will be dearly missed by her family and friends, Pyong's legacy of love, humor, selflessness, and unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to their GoFundMe page. https://gofund.me/8c1c8a6c

Rest in peace, Pyong. You will always be our sunshine.
