Obituary of Quaid Robert Mobus
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Quaid Robert Mobus, who left us suddenly at his home in Warren, New Jersey, on September 20, 2024, at the age of 32.
Born on October 31, 1991, in Somerville, New Jersey, Quaid was a lifelong resident of Warren. He was a proud graduate of Watchung Hills High School and continued his education at a vocational welding school. Quaid's professional life was marked by his dedicated work in various fields, including landscaping at JK Maintenance, as an electrician with Focal Lighting and Electrical, and most recently as a steamfitter alongside his father at Steamfitters Local 475.
Quaid was a man of deep convictions and profound faith, proud of his American heritage and committed to his belief in God. His journey of self-awareness and personal growth over the last year reflected his inner strength and resilience. A passionate history buff, Quaid enjoyed exploring the complexities of historical events and engaging in spirited discussions about various conspiracy theories, always ready to offer a well-thought-out perspective.
Quaid's life was a testament to his industrious nature and his capacity to overcome challenges with grace and courage. Though his physical challenges were significant, his spirit and determination remained unbounded, a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
He leaves behind his loving parents, Cynthia and George Mobus; his siblings, Ian Mobus, Derek Mobus, and Cailyn Crandell and her husband, Bo; along with his adored niece, Beretta, and nephews, Wyatt and Elliott. Quaid's life was a beacon of hope and perseverance, and his memory will forever illuminate the lives of his family and friends.
The family will receive guests for a visitation at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the same location. Interment will follow at Springdale Methodist Church Cemetery, 109 Washington Valley Road, Warren, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Quaid's honor may be made to the Cheshire House in Florham Park, an organization that was instrumental in teaching him to live independently.
Quaid's favorite scripture, Joshua 1:9, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go," beautifully encapsulates his life's philosophy.
In remembrance of Quaid, we hold close his courage, his love for his country, and his unwavering faith.
The family would like to thank Steamfitters Local 475, J Moore Co, Lowriders, Elks Post 885, and Washington Valley Fire Co. for their fundraising support post Quaid's accident in 2013.
