On 22 August 2025, our beloved Quinlain B South's departure from this world was officially recorded at 14:57, less than two weeks after his 21st birthday As an expression of his generous nature, he intentionally chose to be an organ donor, and all eight donatable organs were declared healthy and matched to recipients, potentially offering them and their families life-saving hope. Quinlain lived a particularly vibrant life, and is remembered from childhood for a beaming smile, dressing smartly, and a strong interest in the outdoors and the Boy Scouts of America. Swords, art, Lego, and firearms attracted him in all phases of his life. Sports involvement included positions as Keeper on a select soccer team, and Regional 3rd place tournament point leader in Fencing. He also had a life-long involvement in performing and enjoying music, playing piano, string base, then drums in turn. No one will forget he also had a strong streak of friendly mischief! Most recently he endured hardship from his year-long enlistment in the US Navy, from which he was honorably discharged because of injuries he sustained while in service. In his more-adult life he cultivated loving relationships, self-improvement, entrepreneurial enterprises, and preparing for the future. He further developed his musical interests with singing and drumming. He demonstrated himself to be a person of strong moral character, and focused on honorable work and living. He enjoyed creating works of art, had served honorably in the US Navy, and he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. At the time of his passing he was attending community college while working part time, and discussing a future with his girlfriend Emily. His bright smile, intelligence, self-efacing humor, his penchant for helping others less fortunate than himself, and his random acts of extreme generosity will be a sore loss for the world at large. His closest friends and family feel that loss all the more keenly. He is survived by his mother and father Catherine and Phillip, sister Euri, his intended lifetime companion Emily Menke, both grandmothers, his godmother Minnie Rangel, godfather Curtis Young, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family in all directions. The immediate family welcomes prayers, well wishes, and other contact from all family and friends wishing to do so. A memorial celebrating his life will be held on the 20th of September 2025 at 15:00 (3pm) at the Frank Fickett Scout Center in Austin TX. A light meal will be provided afterwards, for those who RSVP with the family. The dress code is come-as-you-are, but black tie optional…we know he loved any opportunity to wear a tuxedo!
