Quinn E Lanus

Quinn Edward Lanus, Jr. of Elk Grove Village, age 66, died Sunday, November 5, 2023, at his home after suffering a catastrophic stroke in December 2022. Quinn was born May 26, 1957, and was the adopted son of Quinn E. Lanus, Sr. and Marikaye (nee Walsh). He grew up in the Edgebrook neighborhood of Chicago. After graduating from Notre Dame Prep High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving as an aviation antisubmarine warfare technician on the U.S.S. Constellation, an aircraft carrier stationed in San Diego, CA and was honorably discharged in 1981.
Quinn was the beloved husband of Mary (nee Kasper) for 38 years, devoted father to Christopher (Shannon); Stephen (Sloane McNulty); Matthew and his girlfriend, Mia Voehringer. Quinn was the cherished "Papa" to Gabriel Quinn, Theodore James, and Remy Clifford. Quinn was the brother of Julie (Tom) Wallbaum, and brother-in-law to Joanne Ross, Lynn Ryan, Joseph Kasper, Patricia (Jeffrey) McCarty, and the late Robert Kasper, along with being a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Quinn recently retired after a successful career in the Information Technology sector, spending over 20 years at General Electric.
Quinn loved his family, friends, golf, cigars, live music, and a good chocolate shake. He was a life-long learner and a voracious reader. He was a man of few words but was of wise counsel to those who knew and sought out his advice. He will be dearly missed.
Services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Saint Viator High School Chapel (located on the 2nd floor). Visitation from 9:30am until the start of Mass at 10:30am.
