Rachel lived a long, full life and loved the Lord all the days of her life.

She was a member of Dover Baptist Church, in which she was the oldest member, and served as the church custodian for 35 years. She also was a member of the WMU and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Rachel enjoyed gardening and growing houseplants, in particular, African Violets. She also loved sharing her knowledge of making homemade butter with students at local schools. Rachel loved to travel to various places near & far, from New York, several Alaskan adventures and even to Scotland!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Brewer, son, Jack Brewer, sisters, Frances Davis, Bernice Cockman, Miriam Davis, and Elva Osborne; brothers, Jimmy Davis, Foster Davis, Dossie Davis, Emory Davis, Alton Davis, and Harold Davis.

Rachel is survived by her daughter, Beverly Hogan (Willis) of Ether; son, JC Brewer (Ann) of Albemarle, grandchildren, Kristie Cobb, John Brewer, Adrian Davis, Amy Snow and Austin Brewer; great grandchildren, Jeremy and Kassidy Cobb, Samuel, Benjamin and Theodore Brewer, Nathan and Kristen Davis, and Gracie, Summer, and Jackson Snow.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Dover Baptist Church at 3:00 pm with Rev. Steven Maness officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-2:45 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
