Mrs. Rachel Newman Cannon "Dotta", 83, of Hawkinsville, Ga. passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Navicent Health in Macon, Ga. Services will be held at Haynesville First Baptist Church in Haynesville, Ga. at 2pm on Wednesday Dec. 28, 2022 with Rev. David Fisher and Rev. Gary Andrews officiating. A visitation will be held starting at 1:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will be in the family plot at Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
Mrs. Cannon was a native of Ellaville Ga. She was a member of Hayesville First Baptist Church. Rachel was a retired clerk for the Pulaski County tag office. Her love was making the best cakes and baked goods ever. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Mable Watson Newman; her beloved husband, Roger Terrence Cannon Sr.; son, Roger T. Cannon Jr.; her sibling, Judith Newman Bryant, along with many loved ones.
Left to carry on her legacy of love for Christ and her precious family, Daughters, Cynthia Cannon Smith (Marty) of Kingsland Ga., Katrina Cannon Swindle (Steve) of Lizella, Ga. and daughter in love, Terri Cannon Cato (Roger)(Bruce) of Hawkinsville, Ga; Brothers, Leon E. Newman, Ned M. Newman Jr. (Marie), Ronald P. Newman (Diane) and Mike Newman (Carol); Sister, Starlette Newman Sinyard (Donald); Beloved nieces and nephews; Dotta's Grands and Great-Grands, Chris Faulk (Stacie), Roger T. Cannon III (Tara), Nikki "Beebles" Eyraud (Justin), Mat Cannon, Rachel Kate Lyles (Zach), Joseph K. Watson Jr., Skylar V. Hutchinson, Trista Smith and Jeff Smith; Great-grandchildren, Dylan Faulk, Caitlin Faulk Merrow (Austin), Roger T. Cannon IV, Brooklyn Kate Cannon, Robert Clate Cannon, Ryder Weston Cannon, Justin M. Eyraud Jr., Harper Kate Lyles, Baby Boy Lyles, Kayle Smith, Emma McCullough and Claire McCullough.
