Rachel Lynch, 56, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away at home on Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was a beloved mother to three wonderful children, Joshua, 32, Keegan, 24, and Jacqueline, 22, and grandmother to Remington Lynch, 18 months. Rachel was born January 10, 1968 in Southfield, Michigan, to Dale and Louise Smith, and was reared in Detroit, Michigan. She left a deep void her family will never fill. Rachel was a vivacious, beautiful, selfless, loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Rachel loved life, kept true to the values of Christ's giving, forgiveness, and love. She loved to serve the Lord and was a very active volunteer in her church community. Rachel attended Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska, where she earned an Associate's Degree in Psychology.
Rachel had a soft spot for any human or animal in need. She was a provider and protector of anything that drew breath. God would send her his wounded animals for her to nurture back to health, knowing they would be in good hands and dearly cared for. Being the one in the family with a green thumb, she had a passion for nurturing her flower garden and plants as well.
After high school she explored cosmetology and fashion before proudly joining the United States Navy in 1988 where she served honorably for 5 years, a testament to her deep-rooted patriotism and sense of duty. Rachel married her former husband, Jeffrey D. Lynch, in 1999, whom she met in the Navy while stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, sharing many years together full of love and laughter. She was a devoted mother to her children - her pride and joy. She always said they changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support she provided, a love that warmed their hearts and guided their lives.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Louise Smith, and sisters Dawn, Robin and Jennifer. She is survived by her brother, Joel, sisters Stacy and Cindy, her children and grandson who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Rachel always showed kindness, grace, compassion, and love for family and friends and shared her love and smile with whoever she met.
Rachel's family and friendships encompassed all aspects of life, and each was special to her. From spontaneous phone calls with friends to outings with family to church get-togethers to helping others in any way she could, Rachel was selfless and always there for everyone. She was the friend who would volunteer for any project as freely as she would join you for lunch. She was known to do a kind favor just because it would make someone smile.

Words can´t even explain how everyone is feeling. I meet Rachel through Linda Mitchell 46yrs ago. We all lived in the same neighborhood for years. We use to have fun when we were younger. Rachel will be missed. We had a great talk two days before your untimely death. You will be missed. Rest peacefully Rachel

We met about 19 years ago when our sons Camden and Keegan became friends in kindergarten in Omaha. Our daughters Joslyn and Jacque were close in age and naturally became friends as well. You and I became close and had lots of fun and lots of laughs together. We would host play dates and sleepovers for each others kids. Occasionally we would sneak in some girl time. We confided in each other about the challenges that we went through. You went to court and vouched for me during my custody battle with my ex. You would help your friends and family anyway that you could.
After you moved to Aurora, Colorado we didn´t communicate as much but remained friends. You were always a big family person making sure everyone had everything that they needed. You loved all animals and always had several pets.
I remember you getting up early on Sundays and getting dressed up for church. You served God and held true to your values.
You had a huge heart and loved big! Heaven definitely gained an angel with you!
Joshua, Keegan and Jaqueline we are deeply sorry for your loss. We will be praying for your peace and comfort during this difficult time.
With love and hugs,
Sherry, John, Camden and Joslyn

My deepest and sincere condolences extend to Rachel's family and loved ones. A piece of her will live with me always as she was a joy to be with. I met her as a friend of Linda Mitchell and always enjoyed seeing her when she visited the Detroit area, most recently this summer. God bless and keep you close as you progress through the grieving and healing progress.

It is with great sadness and hurt that i am writing this, in the home going for Rachel. This is Val. To Jackie, Josh,,Keegan, your Mother was the best. She was an out standing Mother, and she loved you all so much. As you know we talked often, sometimes 3 or 4 times in the same day. She confided in me so mu h. She was my friend, my sister in life and my sister in Christ..I am truely devastated in her passing. I do know shes home , we know she loved the Lord....Long time friend and sister that I met in the mid eighties, when we both worked at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. I am so many memories that I will treasure.God Bless you all, I love you all.
