Rachel Nadene Whitworth (Jarboe), born April 14, 1932, in Axtel, Kentucky passed away peacefully on 25 February 2026. Rachel is the daughter of Wesley and Lena Jarboe who have preceded her in going home. She is the wife of Thomas Earl Whitworth Sr. who has also gone home. Rachel was preceded in death by her sisters Ester Fentress, Martha Tucker, Ruth Ann Smith and their adopted sister Mary Alice. She is survived by her younger brother Paul Jarboe.
Rachel is survived by her children, Daniel Lawrence Whitworth, Lydia Joan Waddell, Thomas Earl Whitworth Jr., William Asa Whitworth, Donna Lois Tunstal, Steven Lee Whitworth, Timothy Leon Whitworth and Michi Dorcus Perkins. Jonathan Byron Whitworth, her youngest son, preceded her in death. Rachel is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rachel will always be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her Lord and her Savior Jesus Christ. She loved and cared for family and friends and considered all those whom she came in contact as her mission field. Whether it was across the world or locations just next door, she tirelessly but lovingly showed the Goodness of God – both in word and deed.
Rachel is home at last, more alive than she has ever been.
We will greatly miss her until we are reunited with her and our Lord Jesus!!
Funeral services will be held at Goshen Baptist Church on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 1 PM with burial in the church cemetery under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.
There will be no visitation.
