Rachele Grace Amaranto "Ricki" took her final flight from this life on May 14, 2025, closing the chapter on a life richly lived, deeply loved, and vividly experienced. A true social butterfly and citizen of the world, Rachele leaves behind a legacy of warmth, adventure, laughter, and unforgettable stories.
Born on October 21, 1942, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, Rachele's thirst for adventure was apparent from a young age. That spirit of curiosity and boldness carried her around the globe throughout her adult life, particularly in her cherished career as a flight attendant with TWA and American Airlines. Her work was not merely a job-it was a passport to the passions that defined her: travel, culture, fashion, fine food, and good wine.
Italy held a special place in her heart. Drawn to the warmth of its people and the elegance of its style, she embraced the country as a second home, returning often and building a wardrobe-and a jewelry collection-as dazzling as her personality.
Rachele was rarely alone on her travels. She crisscrossed the globe with her dearest friends-Bonnie, Mary, Pam, Marilyn, and Carolyn - sharing countless meals, memories, and laughter. Together, they were a force of joy and companionship wherever they went.
Though she was a globe-trotter, Rachele was also a master of the domestic arts. Her pies were legendary. Apple, cherry, and pumpkin were her signature offerings, and each slice was a gift of comfort and love. Whether pouring a glass of Italian wine or offering up a cold beer while watching her favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers, Rachele had a way of making everyone feel at home in her presence.
Rachele is survived by her brother, Jerome "Snookie" Amaranto, and his wife, Lucretia "Jodi" - her nieces, Jackie, Melissa, Rachelle, and Ashley; her nephew, Joseph, and his wife, Whitney; her beloved sister, Margie Cole, and Margie's husband, Joe Don. She also left behind her cherished cat, KAT, her beloved travel companions and lifelong friends, Bonnie, Mary, Pam, Marilyn, and Carolyn, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will miss her laughter, generosity, and sparkle.
Rachele was preceded in death by her parents, George William Amaranto, and Margery Sybil, whose love no doubt shaped the extraordinary woman she became.
Rachele's (Ricki's) life was a brilliant mosaic of beauty, kindness, and curiosity. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and will be remembered always-for her impeccable style, her unmatched pies, her love of life, and her open, welcoming heart.
Fly high, Rachele. You were one of a kind.
