Rae Anna Watson was born November 26, 1976, at Elizabeth General Hospital in Elizabeth NJ. She was the third child and second daughter born to Thomas and Valerie Watson.
Rae Anna, better known as Rae Ann or just Rae to her loved ones or closest friends, was named after her mother's parents Anna and Ray Guilford. Her father had his own nickname for her. He said, when Rae was a little bitty thing, he couldn't believe how she would place his shoes neatly by the door and daintily move around. He would say to her your just like a little lady and she loved it. Even though she was too young to understand what a little lady was she understood her father's love and praise, so he continued to call her "Lady".
The Watson family lived in Potters Crossing in Edison and moved to Elizabeth for a short period of time before settling in Rahway. Rae attended Franklin Elementary School, Rahway Junior High School and graduated from Rahway High School, class of "95". She went on to study at Essex County College and graduated from Cittone Institute. Throughout her years Rae worked several goods jobs, and a few she would not want us to mention. She worked at Woodbridge State School, United States Postal Office as a mail lady and Hello Fresh.
Rae was loved by all who knew her. She was cute, cool, funny and she played too much! She loved to dance, play spades, and listen to music, especially house music! Rae had a sweet tooth, she always had candy. Her favorite candy was marshmallow peeps, but the secret was, they had to be stale lol. The only person she loved more in this world was her only son Christian Dior Smith born to her in 2007. Christian loved it whenever she called him by his middle name Dior, because that meant she missed him and wanted to spend time with him. Rae was also Christians favorite person in this
world, and she will truly be missed by him and all who loved her. Our beloved Rae Ann went on to be with the Lord on April 16, 2024. She was predeceased by her mother Valerie Watson and brother Thomas "TJ" Watson Jr.
She leaves to mourn: (Father) Thomas Watson Sr. (Siblings) Thomasina and Tyree Watson (Son) Christian Dior Smith (Nephews) Sean Watson, Kenny Milford, and Kwame Watson (Neice) Amya Watson (Uncles) Frank, Thorton and Melvin (Aunts) Lucille, Barbara, Polly, Olly, Wendy, Laura and Nancy and a host of cousins and friends.
