He was a big fan of the Chicago Clubs baseball, and Cruz Azul Football soccer team. Many of his hobbies included were talking to his friends, family, and dancing cumbias. While living in Chicago, Illinois he married and had three children; Alicelaura, Anita, and Rafael Jesus. He was a husband and a father who always took care of his family. Along with his wife, Rafael and Laura had a bridal shop that was very successful. In every decision his wife made, Rafael supported her for their family. He was also a church member at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, on the southside of San Antonio, for over eight years. And was involved with MFCC as well.
