Raleigh C. Fields, Jr., 70, of Kendallville, Indiana died Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born August 31, 1955, in Hazard, Kentucky to Raleigh Fields, Sr. and Gladys (Feltner) Fields.
On May 20, 2017, in Albion, he married Deanna (Gibson) McClelland. She survives in Kendallville.
Raleigh had worked at Mahoney Foundry in Kendallville for 35 years before retirement.
He enjoyed being on the water fishing. His porch was his perch, where he watched the world go by, neighbors waving, kids playing, the sun tracing its path across the sky. With a cold Mt. Dew in hand, he was content.
Also surviving are two sons, Jason Fields of Kendallville and Trever Fields of Kendallville; a daughter, Karla Fields of Kendallville; two stepdaughters, Suzette (Eric) Stitt of Ligonier and Joyce Halsey of Garrett; seven grandchildren; six step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; a brother, Delmer Fields of Albion; and three sisters, Hazel Hale of Kendallville, Zelma Feltner of Huntertown, and Helen (Tim) Leitch of Albion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Theresa (Cox) Fields in 2015; and a sister, Thelma McClellan; and a brother, Elmer Fields.
Per Raleigh's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
Preferred memorials are to the family for expenses.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
