Ralph E. Armstrong

Ralph E. Armstrong, age 91, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Ralph was born on February 14, 1934 in Benton, IL to Lee R. and Ethel R. (Dixon) Armstrong. He married Rema Josephine Prior on March 8, 1952 in Benton and she preceded him in death on April 11, 2012.
Surviving are his son, Ron Armstrong of Bartonville, IL; his grandson, Randy (Veronica) Armstrong; his great-granddaughter, Gabriella; and his step-granddaughter, Nicole (Brian) Allan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Ralph E. "Chico" Armstrong; his daughter-in-law, Susan Armstrong; and his sister, Dortha (Bert) McClendon.
Ralph pursued multiple careers throughout his life. Most people would remember him from being the manager of the meat market at the A&P in Lacon, co-owning with his wife, Jo, the Coast to Coast Hardware in Chillicothe and he was a long term landlord of residential and commercial properties for many years.
Cremation rites will be accorded and burial of ashes will be held later in the Spring at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Ralph, please visit our floral store.
