"Honker" knew it was time to bogie for home. Ralph B. Hoernke, known to family and friends as "Honker" passed away in the late evening hours of Friday, August 8, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Care was provided by Compassus Hospice.

Honker was born October 30, 1941 in Wausau to Edwin and Frieda (Giese) Hoernke. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Dallmann on January 16, 1971 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Edgar. He and Cheryl owned and operated the family dairy farm continuing the Hoernke family homestead that started back in 1878. He enjoyed riding motorcycles to take time off and clear his mind as well as going fishing anywhere he could "wet a line." Other past times for Ralph included being an outdoorsman, cutting firewood and spending time with his faithful canine companion, "Toots".

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Cheryl Hoernke of Edgar and his daughter, Lisa Hoernke of Colby as well as his sister, Arlene Richardson of Edgar along with many other relatives, friends and neighbors. Preceding him in death are his parents, Edwin and Frieda Hoernke and his brother, Herbert Hoernke.

To honor Ralph's wishes, he requested that no services be held.

His arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer. Family and friends are encouraged to visit www.lifetributesfuneralhome.com to share memories and offer condolences.

God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Never a dull moment with him, hunting and making sausage. I got the name `24´ from him because I swore on the cb radio and I´m sure there are more people he gave nick names to.
Peggy says he always stopped in and had a blond joke for her.
