Ralph Lee Balcombe, 100, resident of Atria in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania, formerly of Staten Island, New York, passed away on March 29, 2026. Born on January 13, 1926, in Norfolk, Virginia, he was the son of the late Bertram and Edna (LaPlace) Balcombe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lolita "Lolly" Balcombe.

Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, joining the war effort at the age of 17. Following his military service, he went on to work for the New York City Department of Marine and Aviation as a marine oiler taking water samples aboard the Staten Island Ferry and later took on an office role, dedicating many years of service.

He lived a full and active life, finding great joy on the golf course where he achieved the rare accomplishment of three holes-in-one. Ralph also shared a deep love of dancing with his beloved wife, Lolly. Together, they joined a dance group where they not only learned to dance but built lasting friendships, especially enjoying polka and other social dances. They also shared a passion for travel, frequently cruising throughout the Caribbean and creating many cherished memories along the way.

Ralph will be dearly missed by his daughter, Cathy Wirth and her husband, Jeff; four grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Mastrangelo.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem and will be private.
