Ralph R. "Rod" Barber, 89, of West Pittsburg (formerly of Ellwood City and Wampum) passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at UPMC - Jameson Hospital following a short illness.
Born November 27, 1936, in New Galilee, he was the son of the late Ralph L and Mildred Andrews Barber. He married Beverly McElwain Barber on April 21, 1958.
Rod had many jobs throughout his life. He began his working career at Mathews Conveyor but particularly enjoyed his time working with Graham Moving Company in Ellwood City. A lifelong patriot, Rod proudly served in the Army during Korea. Rod was a member of the American Legion 749, the Hungarian Home in Ellwood City, and affiliated with the Calvin Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City. He loved the Pirates and enjoyed being outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Rod was a talented musician who loved playing guitar and singing with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years Beverly; two sons, Darryl (Shelley) Barber of New Beaver and Brad (Vicki) Barber of Flagstaff, AZ; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and several loving nieces, nephews, and good friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Janice Butchelle in 1966.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday December 16, 2025, from 1:00 pm until the funeral service at 3:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum.
Rev. Sean Brubaker of the Calvin Presbyterian Church will officiate. Military Rites will be observed. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor's favorite Veteran's Organization.
