Ralph C. Cagwin
Age 96, late of Lockport passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, Born in Joliet, and a lifelong resident of Lockport. A proud United States Coast Guard Veteran serving during WWII. Member of Lockport VFW Post #5788. Ralph was President of Barnet Cemetery in Lockport for many dedicated years. Ralph devoted his entire life to farming and his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joann (Nee Gannaway) Cagwin 1980; parents, Merritt J. and Hattie (Nee Wells) Cagwin; one granddaughter, Amy Cagwin; two brothers, Merritt "Uddy" (Marie) Cagwin, and Willard "Woody" (Mary) Cagwin; and one sister, Grace Cagwin in infancy.
Survived by his two devoted children, Nandra Cora of Lockport, and Gregory (Nancy) Cagwin of Lockport; two cherished grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Cora, and Brett (Kim) Cagwin; two adored great grandchildren, Meghan and Liam Cagwin; and his loyal caretaker, Merlita. Memorial donations in Ralph's name may be made to Barnet Cemetery 16528 W. Bruce Rd. Lockport, IL 60441.
Per Ralph's wishes Cremation Rites were respectfully addressed, and inurnment will take place at Barnet Cemetery, Lockport, IL.
Arrangements under the care of O'Neil Funeral Home, Lockport.

To all family members.....condolences on the passing of Ralph. I or my father used to spread gravel at the cemetery when it was needed for Ralph. Woody played at my parents 25th at the VFW. Great guy as Uddy was. And remember Mary working many years at the supermarket. Sorry. Take care & God Bless....Shep
