Ralph Day

Ralph arrived in this world on September 12, 1933 into the arms of Golden Day and Sarah Brown Day. He was welcomed by his brother, Jim and sister, Janice. He grew up in Hunter, Utah (now part of West Valley).

He attended school at Monroe Elementary and graduated from Cyprus High. He served two years in the Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss when he was sent to Southern New Mexico to work on the Nike Missiles.

Two children, Ron and Trudy, were born while Ralph was married to Ruth Angell. They later divorced and Ralph married Beverly Day. They had 50 years together, working side by side on whatever projects were required, whether it be outside, in the house, or on cars.

He was employed by Structural Steel for 15 years then retired from Kennecott/Rio Tinto after 25 years with them as a blacksmith.

Ralph's favorite hobby was building and flying model airplanes. He volunteered his expertise and knowledge of them while working at M.R.S. hobby shop for many years and took his "compensation" by bringing home model kits. He thoroughly enjoyed his time there and loved those he worked with.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Beverly; his son Ron Day; his daughter Trudy Day; grandchildren: LiLi Calderon (Tyler Janiszewski), Doug Annand, and Connor Austin; great grandchildren: Bella Smith, Bailey Smith and Layne Janiszewski.
