Ralph Ferra Obituary
Ralph F. Ferra of North Smithfield passed away on June 17, 2024, at Milford Regional Medical Center at the age of 82. He was the loving husband of Muriel (St. Germain) Ferra. Born in Providence, Ralph was the eldest son of the late Ralph and Jennie (Rizzo) Ferra.
For all of us who knew Ralph, he was larger than life, full of passion and commitment and was always trying new things. Ralph truly enjoyed every step of the journey. Family was his priority, and his dedication touched each of their children. He and Muriel worked tirelessly together on countless ventures, always with the understanding that nothing comes without hard work, an unexpected burst of laughter, and of course, a playful jab or two from Ralph. Uniquely himself and unapologetic, he nevertheless knew when to offer apologies, usually when Muriel said, "Apologize!" He was tough yet always endeared himself to those around him. Ralph will be deeply missed, but his life, love and guidance will remain with us forever.
Along with his wife Muriel, to whom he would surely give equal credit, Ralph leaves behind four wonderful children, two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, and ten grandchildren, each one forever touched by his presence.
Ralph had many hobbies and accomplishments. As a young man, he was a mechanic in the army. Later, he developed a love of archery and became the Rhode Island archery state champ three years running. He loved restoring his classic cars, auto racing, hunting, fishing and was a proud member of Cercle Laurier. Later in life, he picked up golf and, in true fashion, out-drove all his friends. Whatever his passions were, Ralph pursued them to the fullest.
Ralph is survived by his Daughter Anne-Marie Champagne, her husband Jim and their children Malibu-May and Gansett Blue of North Smithfield, Daughter Donna Ferra-Kochanek, her husband Wayne and their children Ferra Rose and Bonte RJ of
West Hills, CA, Son Ralph Ferra, his wife Robin and their children Zachary and Gregory of North Smithfield, Son Brandon Ferra, his wife Donna and their children Kaitlyn, Cameron, Lily-Rose, and Nathan of North Smithfield, Brother Michael Ferra of Cranston, Sisters Jo-Ann Cullinane of
Vero Beach, FL, Linda Brown of North Providence, and Barbara Ferra of Coventry.
Ralph was the brother of the late Frank, Joseph and Robert Ferra, Ann Marie Stanley and Carol Ann Blackwood.
