Ralph Horowitz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cargain Funeral Homes Inc. - Carmel on Mar. 6, 2026.
Ralph Charles Horowitz, a cherished patriarch and beacon of faith, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Mahopac, NY. Born on October 1, 1932, in New York, NY, to the late Paul and Frieda (Dollinger) Horowitz, Ralph's journey through life was marked by devotion to his family, his faith, and his community.

Ralph's early years were spent in the bustling streets of New York City, where he cultivated a strong work ethic and an enduring sense of responsibility. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from New York University, a testament to his intelligence and determination. His career as a Sales Executive in the Garment District was marked by his charismatic personality and his ability to connect with people, a skill that served him well throughout his life.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ralph was a pillar in his local community. He was an active member of the Knights of Pythias and had proudly served as President of Temple Beth Shalom in Mahopac, NY. His leadership and commitment to his faith were sources of inspiration to many.

Ralph's life was a reflection of the words of Helen Keller: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." This sentiment was embodied in his unwavering love for his family. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Yvonne (Braht) Horowitz, his son, Mark Horowitz, and his parents, Ralph's legacy continues through his children, Mindee Impastato (RJ) and Sheldon Horowitz (Joi), his daughter-in-law Dorrine Horowitz and his adored grandchildren, Steffan, Jane, Jason, Alexa, Jillian, Brett, and Dean, as well as his treasured great-grandson, Eli.

Ralph's siblings, Rose Klein, Terry Makler and Saul Horowitz, predeceased him, but the memories they shared will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew the Horowitz family.

A faith-filled man, Ralph's dedication to his temple and his religion was unwavering. He found great joy in the traditions and teachings of Judaism, which guided him through the highs and lows of life. His grandchildren were the source of his greatest joy and he instilled in them the values of love, respect and the importance of family.

Ralph's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of faith. He was a man who cherished every moment with his family and who lived his life with a generous heart. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire his much loved family and friends.

As we bid farewell to Ralph C. Horowitz, we celebrate a life well lived, a legacy of love and a faith that never wavered. May his memory be a blessing to all.

Family and friends may gather at the office of the cemetery, Sharon Gardens, prior to service.

A graveside ceremony to honor Ralph C. Horowitz will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Sharon Gardens, 273 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, NY where he will be interred alongside his beloved wife, Yvonne, who passed away in 2018.
