Marvin Horowitz of
Manchester, NJ passed away peacefully Friday, February 13, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in
Brooklyn, NY he and his wife, Carole raised their family in
Manalapan, NJ for 25 years and resided in
Manchester, NJ for the 22 years that followed. He proudly served as a crew chief in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1955-1958. Widely renowned as a master salesman, Marvin spent much of his career traveling nationally. He was known to be an excellent driver with a wonderful sense of direction and knew every diner, wawa and waffle house that ever existed. Nothing made him happier than a cup of coffee and the newspaper. Marvin was an avid Yankee fan, as well as loving the library and reading many crime thrillers. His favorite material was American Wartime History. He would often comment on his love for Big Band Music, tapping his feet to the likes of Artie Shaw and Glenn Miller. "I happen to like it." Always meticulously dressed, he would often be seen in a suit and loved a splash of color with a paisley tie for sure. If being early meant being right on time, then Marvin was your man and always on point. He would do anything for anyone at any time – he may have complained a bit about it, but always got it done. He loved his family very much and was always regarded as quite the character. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Carole Horowitz, his 4 children; Joel Horowitz & his wife Dianna, David Horowitz, Aimee B. Liguori and Eric Morace, as well as his 7 grandchildren; Toni, Julia, Nicholas, Michael, Emma, Christopher, and Joseph. A private ceremony will be held on Thursday at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The family will be hosting a Memorial Service (Celebration of Life) on Sunday, March 8th from 1pm-4pm at Oliverie Funeral Home in Jackson, NJ. 125 S. Cooks Bridge Rd,
Jackson Township, NJ 08527. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Tunnel to Towers (www.t2t.org), or St. Jude's Children Hospital (www.stjude.org)
