Gonna miss ya Ralph..You hired me part time to help out in Sound Odyessy (White Marlin Mall) back in the late 80's to keep the music gear in working order and to sell strings, pedals, ect and also to add my input into what to carry in the "Metal" section of the store including selling my band "Killer Elite" (Mad as hell) cassette....You also taught me how to run a cash register..haha! Thanks for all the fun times of working in a true music store and being one cool friend..We use to have alot of laughs together! JD Bradshaw

So sad to hear this. I have very fond memories of my cousin Ralph and sisters from my days living in Paulsboro. I know he will be sadly missed. Donna Travers

Growing up in Ocean City there was NOWHERE to buy strings or pedals if you played guitar -- except for Sound Odyssey. Ralph helped me get what I needed after I bought my first electric guitar and guided me through the ins and outs of getting started; he didn't have to, he just wanted to be helpful. Genuinely one of the nicest dudes in the world. He made his shop a fun place to hang out and find cool stuff -- import albums, rare videos, great music in general. He was an open-minded and fun individual, great for conversation and a wealth of knowledge.
One time when I was sixteen I came into the store and his VHS racks by the door had fallen over -- I started helping him pick them up without asking because he was always there for everyone else, so I wanted to help him in kind. He gave me a Radiohead poster for doing that and it still hangs in my house to this day.
When my mom passed away, Ralph was there for me. He knew my mother fairly well and checked on me whenever I stopped in -- he didn't have to do that. He just did because he was one of the truly great people in this world, of which we need more.
One of the last conversations I had with him before I moved away for college was his excitement at having a child. Chloe, your dad was so stoked to bring you into this world -- thanks for posting these photos of him. I'm sorry I lost contact with him but I know he had an impact on others like he did on me. The world has lost one of its fantastic human beings.
So it goes.

So sorry to hear about Ralph passing. I worked for Ralph at Sound Odyssey for a little while. I used to love to talk punk music and horror movies with him. Ralph was a good dude. RIP

Hello, my name is Aubrey. My dad Bob Sizemore was great friends with Ralph before he passed in 1998. I have so many memories at Sound Odyssey. Ralph gave me so many tapes and cd of all the greatest music. I used to rewind all the returned movies and put them back in the shelves. Ralph would pick out movie for my sister and I to watch in the back room. I think we watched every movie in the store. He would hang out with my dad at our house and be was such a great influence in my life. If any of the family is ever in the ocean city area, PEASE reach out. [email protected].
My condolences to Ralph's family. He is going to be missed by so many.
