Ralph "Gene" E. Killworth, 65, of Churubusco, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at his lifelong home. He was born in Columbia City, on September 3, 1955, to the late Ralph and Myrna (Jones) Killworth, Sr. He spent his formative years in Churubusco, graduating from Churubusco High School in 1973. As a kid, he bailed hay. He then worked for nine years at the Whitley County Hospital. Gene retired from Dana, Fort Wayne, after 23 years. His favorite place to visit was Myrtle Beach. He enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews with Krispy Cream Donuts whenever possible and attending anything they were involved in. He loved to ice fish and hunt for the "mother load" of mushrooms. He always had a "big" garden. In 1995, he appeared on the Hoosier Lottery Show. With his winnings, he took his family on a cruise. Gene is survived by his brother, Nathan (Melanie) Killworth; two sisters, Pamela (Chris) Rosswurm and Linda (Tim) Lang; his three nieces, Tanya, Alayna, and Katee; two nephews, Jonathan and Ross; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews, Olivia, Asha, Blake, Jordan, Naomi, Marlivio, Mar-yon, Deryan, Denver, Bryer, Briggen, Ryder and Mariah. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will celebrate Gene with a private family service. Burial taking place at Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco.
