Ralph Lorentz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by South Carolina Cremation Society - West Columbia on Dec. 16, 2025.
Ralph Herbert Lorentz, Jr., known lovingly to his family and close friends as "Wubby," passed away on his 73rd birthday, Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Columbia, SC.

Ralph was born on November 15, 1952, in Farmington Hills, MI. He was a truly fantastic human being - a joy to behold whose happiness surrounded him wherever he went. He was happy-go-lucky, always seen with a smile, and possessed a great sense of humor. He was a devoted husband and father whose greatest wish was never to be a burden to anyone.

A proud veteran, Ralph dedicated 20 years of his life to serving his country as a Hospital Corpsman, Petty Officer First Class (HM1), in the United States Navy (1973–1993). Following his retirement from the Navy, and finding that life in retirement was "boring," Ralph returned to the medical field, working as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from 1999 to 2019.

Ralph was a man who found joy in the simple things. He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and pets. He cherished riding his Harley-Davidson Fatboy, and delighted in cooking and baking for his wife, Pamila. He also enjoyed walking the dog and tending to his small, peaceful garden.

Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Pamila Lorentz; his children, Sherriann Lorentz and Aaron Lorentz and his wife, Tabatha Lorentz; and his cherished grandsons, David and Maddox. He is also survived by his loving brother, Herbert Lorentz, and his sister, Joyce J. Lorentz Hendrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Herbert Lorentz, Sr. and Leona Frances Lorentz, and his brother, Frank A. Lorentz.

A Celebration of Life for Ralph is currently TBD (To Be Determined). The family will share details regarding the date, time, and location of the service when arrangements are finalized.
