Ralph "Scott" Pendlebury

Ralph "Scott" Pendlebury, 61, of Chesapeake, VA passed away January 3, 2025, with his family by his side. Scott was born February 12,1963, in Nanticoke, PA., son of the late Ralph and Margaret Pendlebury.
Scott began his Air Force Training in Michigan. He served as an AT Control Operator/Specialist from 1982-1986. As a USAF Sergeant, his honors included; AF Good Conduct Medal, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon, AF Training Ribbon.
Scott began his career with the FAA in 1988 as an Air Traffic Control Specialist, known as "PY". Scott worked at various FAA facilities throughout his career including Richmond, Potomac, and Norfolk International where he retired in 2019. After retiring from the FAA, Scott worked in Elizabeth City, NC USCG Control Tower.
Scott was a dedicated husband and father that loved his family very much including his dog Bodhi and grand-pups Ireland and River. He loved his daily walks with the dogs. He will most be remembered for his humor and generosity the king of "dad jokes," broad knowledge of airplanes, and how his smile lit up any room he entered. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 35, years Annette L., twin daughters Emily M. and Kennedy E., all of Chesapeake, VA. In addition to his wife and daughters, he is survived by his sister Cheryl L. Fritz, her husband Brian L., his nephew Nicholas R. and goddaughter Addison C., all of Bethlehem, PA. His brother, Sean M. Pendlebury of Minneapolis, MN. His uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoover of Tinton Falls, NJ., many in laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Oman Funeral Home. In honor of his dog and love of airplanes, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to flyingfur.org - Flying Fur Animal Rescue.
