Ralphy...I am so proud of you. Looking from the outside most wouldn´t know half the things you went through to get to the person you are today. You are the change we need to see in the world. I have my regrets, as I´m sure other do so I won´t dwell on the negatives. You are kind, capable and strong; and I will forever walk with you by my side. Just because we can no longer see you, doesn´t mean you left us. Walk peacefully with Buddha brother and I´ll see you in the next realm.

Ralphy and I started in BJJ together at American Fight Company in Killeen. In fact he started a few months after me. We were fast friends, who constantly pushed each other. I remember one time we were both in the 6am class (only a couple of us more hardcore practitioners made it to these classes), I pointed out how no one else is showing up. He replied "you have to want it more than you want sleep." Ralphy walked the walk, getting his black belt years before me, and he deserved it. He was always better than me, and inspired me to want to train harder. Sometimes when I´m coaching I´ll show a move that he would always catch on me and say: "my old friend Ralphy used to do this one to me." It´s crazy how fast it can all end... I´ll always be grateful for your inspiration, and I´ll miss you buddy.
