Ralph E. Shevlin, 77, of Gorham, NH, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was born in Berlin, NH on June 10, 1947 the son of the late Emmett P. Shevlin and Phyllis E. (Roy) Shevlin. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1964 and attended NH Vocational Technical College in Berlin. He worked as a lineman for the New England Telephone Company, a part-time police officer and at Androscoggin Valley Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Maria Shevlin; a sister Jeanne Shevlin Gates; his children Amy (Duane) Kahkonen, Susan (Joe) Klementovich, Nova Shevlin, Sophia Shevlin and Hanna (Tom) Ilaria. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Kenzie, Kori, Alex and Ben and other close relatives including Kim (Dave) O’Brien and their two children Ashley & Kyle as well as many close friends.
Ralph gave freely of his time volunteering for 4-H, as a basketball coach, and in many roles at AVH, and the Pioneer group giving back to special needs organization. He was fondly known as the “ family driving instructor.” He had many hobbies including hiking, hunting, fishing, going to the casino and spending time with friends and family. He was known as "The King" of roller skating at Skatey Kat. Ralph will always be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, his smile and his willingness to lend a hand.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 4-6pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to Androscoggin Valley Hospital Auxiliary, 59 Page Hill Rd., Berlin, NH 03570.
