New Comer Cremations & Funerals - Westside LocationThomas "Tom" Robert Shevlin, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 18, 2025. Born on August 6, 1950, in Rochester, New York.
Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy, daughter Kristie, and son in law Robert Colombo. He is also survived by his daughter Ruth Ann. Tom's strong familial bonds extended to his brothers, Mike, Pat (Petra), and David, as well as his sister, Theresa (Danny) Butler, and sister, Mary Ann (Terry) Livergood. Additionally, he leaves behind brothers-in-law Tom (Sue Ann) Brown and Stephen (Peggy) Brown, along with his sister-in-law Christine (James) Weidman. The warmth of his family is further enriched by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and nephews, cousins, and other extended family members who cherished their time with him.
A true animal lover, Tom also found companionship in his two dogs, Kitty and Fox, who provided him with unconditional love and joy throughout his life.
Tom was preceded in death by his father Charles Shevlin and mother Doris Stark, who instilled in him values of kindness, resilience, and community service that he carried throughout his life.
Tom's Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 11th at 11am at Christ the King Church St. Kateri Parish, 445 Kings Highway S, Rochester N.Y. 14617.
