Ralph Dean Sibert returned to his Father in Heaven on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the age of 86. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family, at his home in Roy. He was born in Sunnyside Utah to Earl and Neva Thayn Sibert on July 1, 1936. Ralph grew up in Ogden and was the third of nine children, four brothers and four sisters. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1954 and soon after enlisted in the United States Army.
Ralph served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was deployed to France where he met the love of his life, Christiane. They sat across from each other in the airbase office everyday where his “beautiful green eyes” eventually wore her down. Christiane followed Ralph across the world, and the two married in Montreal Canada on November 17, 1958. They enjoyed a loving marriage for 64 and a half years. Ralph and Christiane were sealed together for time and all eternity on March 30, 2019. In life they were never apart, if you saw one you saw the other. And although they are temporarily separated, she looks forward to the day that she will be reunited with her sweetheart.
Ralph spent his professional life working at Hill Air Force Base. He ended his career as a Logistics Supervisor. He enjoyed working with his hands, whether it be with wood, metal, or tending to his garden. He loved taking pictures on film and at any family function could be seen with his camera in his hand. Ralph was a man of few words, but he always had a joke ready. He loved his family deeply and exhibited that through his endless patience and the quiet way he was always there to support them.
He passed away after fighting a long and valiant fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Although he suffered, he endured this trial gracefully to the end. He never stopped showing his family kindness and love and he remembered them until his last moment.
Christiane stayed by his side and cared for him tirelessly. We are especially grateful to Atlas Homecare and Hospice for making him as comfortable as possible at the end of his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Christiane; children, Alan Sibert and Michelle (Tad) Purser; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his siblings Debra and Wes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Neva Sibert; and his siblings George, Pat, Ross, Betty, DeLeine, and David.
