Ralph "Chuck" White

Ralph C. White, "Chuck" passed away on November 26th 2025, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 78.
Chuck is preceded in death by his wife Linda (Newhouse), his sister Norma (Buchholz), his father Charles and mother Jean (Randall) White.
He is survived by his daughter LeAnn (White) Miller, grandchildren Michael and Matthew Miller, son Steve White, daughter-in-law Shawn (Jacob) White, grandchildren Darren Jacob, Mariah (White) Malbon and sister Mary (White) Horton.
Chuck was born in Park Rapids, Minnesota on December 27, 1946. At 19, he married Linda Newhouse and went on to raise a small family.
Growing up in rural Minnesota surrounded by numerous friends and energetic cousins instilled in Chuck an appreciation for witty banter. Chuck's wit and extensive use of nicknames became a character trait of his and he continued using both well into his later years.
Vocationally, Chuck had various jobs. Most notably, working for Erie Mining Company in Minnesota, at Yellowstone Village and as a facilities manager at West Yellowstone public schools in Montana. Throughout his life, Chuck would especially speak fondly of his work at the elementary school connecting with students.
Chuck had a very active lifestyle; playing sports as a child and continuing to enjoy time outdoors as a young father. As a fan of bowling, Chuck scored a 297 game with a house ball.
While living in rugged landscapes just outside Yellowstone National Park, Chuck and Linda created meaningful experiences with their children and grandchildren by sharing an appreciation for wild spaces. The bison that would eat their flowerbeds in the summers and the endless snow in winter were a nuisance but did not seem to be impossible for them.
Almost 10 years after relocating to Kelso-Longview, Washington, Linda passed away in 2018. This loss was understandably difficult for Chuck who had been married for 53 years. Over the next 7 years, Chuck was consistently cared for and supported by cousins, his immediate family members and friends during this last season of his life.
For some, it is a common habit in life to wish others more peace, joy and happiness than you would ever expect for yourself. For Chuck, no matter the amount of peace or hope he felt he had available to him day to day, he never wavered in his expectant hope for the bright futures of his sister, cousins, and the next generation of his family; his children and grandchildren.
A memorial service for Chuck will take place in Menagha, Minnesota in the summer of 2026.
