Randell Carter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Community Funeral Homes at Memory Gardens Cemetery - Guthrie on Oct. 9, 2025.
Randell "Kirby" Carter, a cherished pillar of the Guthrie community, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, in his hometown of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Born on March 24, 1950, to the late Murry Carter Sr. and Barbara F. Hogg Carter, Kirby's life was marked by his magnetic personality, entrepreneurial spirit, and boundless love for his family.
Kirby was the loving husband of the late Pamela Carter, and together they raised a beautiful family. He was a devoted father to Teneah Knox, Travis Knox, Rhonda Williams, and Re'ana Jones. Though he was preceded in death by his grandchild Kenneth "Togga" Eugene Green III, Kirby's legacy lives on through his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life and his pride and joy.
Having lost his siblings Teanie Carter, Marie Swan, David Carter, and Jamerson Carter. He is survived by his siblings: Martha Anderson, Jessie Joseph, Larry Carter, and Denise Carter. Kirby became the embodiment of strength and resilience for his family. He often shared wisdom through laughter and love, and his kind and funny nature was a source of comfort to all who knew him.
Kirby's education came from the school of hard knocks, which served him well as he became a successful entrepreneur, owning several companies throughout his lifetime. His work ethic and leadership left an indelible mark on the local business community, inspiring many young entrepreneurs to follow in his footsteps.
An avid fisherman, Kirby found solace and joy in the simple pleasure of casting a line into the water. His love for fishing was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his appreciation for life's quiet moments and the beauty of nature.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Kirby would describe him as loving, kind, and funny-a man who could light up a room with his humor and warm any heart with his generosity. He had a knack for making everyone feel special, and his presence was a gift that will be sorely missed.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Kirby Carter embodied this sentiment, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a world made better by his presence.
We bid farewell to a man who was not only the cornerstone of his family but also an irreplaceable member of the Guthrie community. Randell "Kirby" Carter's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories told by his loved ones and the many lives he touched. His was a truly well-lived life, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Randall was a wonderful neighbor and friend. I moved here in 2021, he was so kind and offered to help out. He was a special man. I feel very blessed to have known him. God be with his family. I'm going to miss him a lot.

Randal was a customer of mine at Empire Finance, in Kingfisher. He was a delightful gentleman whenever he made it into the store & he will be deeply missed. I am so very sorry for your loss, just know that my thoughts & prayers are with all of his family & friends.

Sincerely.
