Ramiro Antonio Muralles, affectionately known as "Chico," passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, in Gallatin, Tennessee, surrounded by his cherished family. Born on March 7, 1955, in Guatemala, Ramiro's journey began when he immigrated to the United States at the tender age of eight. His formative years instilled in him a robust work ethic that began at just ten years old, laying the foundation for a remarkable almost 50-year career in the wholesale food industry.
A proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, Ramiro was not only an accomplished professional but also a passionate fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers. His love for the Vols was rivaled only by his adoration for golf, a pursuit through which he formed deep and meaningful connections with those around him. Known for his witty demeanor and outgoing personality, Ramiro never met a stranger; his humorous spirit and genuine care for others endeared him to many.
Ramiro wholeheartedly embraced his role as a family man, demonstrating intentionality in his daily interactions with his children and others. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Jane Muralles; their three children, Scott Johnson (Nicole), Tiane Herrell (Jason), and Tony Muralles; and his grandchildren, Gavin Herrell, Kaeleigh Johnson, Kirsten Herrell, and Abby Johnson. He also leaves behind his siblings, Robert Muralles (Rossanna) and Irma Segroves (Glenn), along with his treasured dog, Neyland.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alberto and Amelia Muralles. Ramiro's legacy is one of hard work, warmth, and an ever-present love for his family. He will be remembered not only for his significant contributions to his profession but also for the indelible mark he left on the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
