Ramona Louise Gillespie

Ramona Louise Parker Gillespie, age 67, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at her residence. She was born on February 28, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Samuel Hayman Parker and Martha Lorraine Burton Parker.

Ramona was a former employee of Bert R. Huncilman & Son and was also a former employee of Amazon. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, trips to the casino to play the slot machines, and card games. Ramona was known for her competitive spirit, but above all, she loved her grandchildren dearly. They were the true joy of her life.

She is survived by her longtime companion of 35 years, Sharkie Basham, Sr.; her children, Christopher Gillespie, Marcus Gillespie, and Lena Buckman (William); her grandchildren, Casey Jean, Brooklyn Gillespie, Brandon Gillespie, Jasper Buckman, and Hase Buckman; her sisters, Lisa Mattingly (Steve), Debbie Drury (Kenny), and Nancy Wright; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Samuel Parker, Henry Drury, and Martha .

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 W. Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, Indiana 47129. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
