Ramona Martinez

Ramona Piña Martinez, age 94, of Sudan, Texas, died Thursday, June 5, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born January 11, 1931 in Cotulla, Texas to Felix and Cruz (Rodriguez) Piña. She married Inocente Martinez in Oconto, Wisconsin on August 30, 1952.
Ramona taught herself to read and write in English and Spanish. She loved to sew and embroider, and enjoyed drawing, which came natural to her. She loved her family and being around all of them. Ramona also loved nature, especially flowers and birds. She was an avid fan of WWE as well. Ramona loved to sing and was a member of the Ladies Rosary Group of Sudan. Her faith was strong and she treasured her church family. Ramona was a devoted member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pep. She is preceded in death by her husband, Inocente; her parents; a son-in-law, Lonnie Narramore; six sisters, Felipa Piña, Eulalia Salinas, Dolores Nava, Francisca Gonzales, Maria Mata and Ysidra Castro and a brother, Eliseo Piña.
Ramona is survived by her son, Jaime Martinez of Sudan, Texas; her three daughters, Teresita "Tere" Narramore of Sudan, Texas, Maria "Ms. Mary" Burdett and her husband, Carl of Moore, Oklahoma and Gloria Flores and her husband, Tony of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, San Juana Luna of Cotulla, Texas and Cruz Sosa of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Felix Piña pf Bedias. Texas and Basilio Piña of Huron, South Dakota; her five grandchildren, Gabe Narramore, Miranda Thorn, Mariah Smith, Elisha Burdett and Adrian Burdett; her nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
