Funeral services for Ramona C. Nelson, 96, of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 3rd Ave. SE, Rochester, MN, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
Ramona C. Nelson was born on November 2, 1928, near Kenyon, MN to Magnus and Julia (Kvittem) Berg. Ramona died on August 12, 2025, at the home of her daughter Rozana in Stewartville. Ramona graduated from Kenyon High School and then attended beauty school. She married Kenneth Nelson on February 6, 1954, in Kenyon, MN and the couple made their home in Rochester. Ramona worked as a hairdresser for many years and later worked for IBM for 15 years as a card assembler. Ramona enjoyed her grandchildren and sewing/quilting. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and enjoyed her time with the Bethel Quilters.
Survivors include her children, Rozana (Roger) Roeder of Stewartville, MN, Ron Nelson of Zumbrota, MN, Don Nelson of Rochester, MN, Gene (Deb) Nelson of Rochester, MN, Kevin (Tara) Nelson of Rochester, MN, Valerie (Augie Padilla) Jorgensen of Faribault, MN, and honorary daughter Cindy (Bruce) Thompson; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ordean and her sister Virginia.
Memorials are suggested to Bethel Lutheran Church and St. Croix Hospice.
