It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Ramona "Sue" (Haws) Sipe, 85, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her Seymour home surrounded by her loving family on July 16, 2025. She was born August 4, 1939, in Fort Ritner, Indiana to the late Herman E. Haws and Roxie Wilkerson Haws Keithly. Sue, known for her warm heart and generous spirit, will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sue was a talented beautician for many years and selflessly volunteered at the local hospital for over 20 years. She found joy in cooking, with her Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners being a highlight for family and friends. Her table was always abundant, and everyone was welcomed with open arms. She delighted in the joy of giving, especially at Christmas. Sue had a passion for gardening and had quite the green thumb. Her gardens were filled with tomatoes, green beans, and corn that she canned, and she was so proud of her flower beds that wrapped around the entire house, especially her rose bushes. She loved to camp and travel with her late husband. They enjoyed many cruises and trips out of the country. She took pleasure in playing cards and an occasional trip to the Casino with friends and family.
Sue is survived by her children, Robert Norton, Larry Norton, and Sherri Herron; grandchildren, Leah Riggs, Leslie Riggs, Lana Riggs, Dylan Riggs, Brooke Bennett, Natalie Herron, Dustin Herron, and Robert Norton Jr.; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Bonnie Morris and Connie Stockhover.
She is preceded in death by her parents, listed above; her husband, William Sipe; daughter, Lisa Suzette Norton Riggs; grandson, Matthew Norton; sister, Brenda Klakamp; and brothers, Ricky Haws, Joe Haws, and Herman Haws, Jr.
Funeral services for Sue will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour. Randy Pedigo will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 22, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, July 23, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Sue will be laid to rest immediately following at Dixon Chapel/Proctor Cemetery in Bedford, Indiana. Her kindness and loving nature will be forever cherished. May she rest in peace in the gardens of heaven.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Sue's honor be made out to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. You are invited to visit our website, vossfuneralservice.com, to leave condolences or share a memory.
