Professor Emeritus, Engineer, Mentor, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend
Dr. Randall Allemang, Professor Emeritus and esteemed faculty member of the Mechanical Engineering Program in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025 at the age of 75, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering dedication, intellectual curiosity, and deep love for his family and friends.
A world-renowned expert in experimental structural dynamics and modal analysis, Randy devoted his career to education, research, and teaching. His passion for problem-solving and commitment to excellence shaped generations of engineers and thinkers. His generosity with his time and knowledge will be remembered by all who had the privilege of learning from him.
Randy was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 52 years, Jane. Along with their family, they shared a lifetime of adventure, traveling the world, skiing in Breckenridge, relaxing in Hilton Head, sailing, cheering on the UC Bearcats and creating lasting memories. His 5 grandchildren will miss their Papa.
Randall was born to Randall and Margaret (nee George) Allemang on October 26, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio. He is preceeded in death by his parents, and his brother, Michael G. Allemang. He is survived by his wife, Jane Allemang, children, Matt (Allison) Allemang and Ashley (Tom Hunt) Allemang, grandchildren, Charlie, Ben, Sydney Allemang, Maggie Sullivan and Caroline Hunt, sister, Kathy (Bill) Farel, sister in law, Lynda Allemang, son in law, Mark Sullivan and nieces and nephews.
Randy’s presence was a steady force—his absence will be felt by his family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and former students.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th from 4:00-7:00pm at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040. A celebration of Randall’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18th at 11:00am in Maineville, Ohio at Lakeview United Church of Christ, 8639 Columbia Rd, Maineville, OH 45039.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UC Heart, Lung & Vascular Institute.
