It was early evening, Friday, November 13, 1998. I was meeting my friend Laura for happy hour at the Tavern at Phipps Plaza. When I walked in, the first person I saw I was a man leaning up against a railing, and I thought gosh he looks like Joe Montana. I walked on through the bar and did not see my friend. I went out to the patio and came back through, and just happened to stand right beside Randy.
He was there with his friend Kerry. They started chatting with me as I was ordering a drink. And they said hey, did you see Joe Montana over there? Well, that really struck up some excitement! They had already gotten his autograph, which I ended up doing so later, with Randy´s encouragement. Joe had retired the year before from the 49ers, and was in town for their game with the Falcons.
As Laura was an hour late, it gave me a chance to get to know Randy, and when she arrived, we ended up talking to Randy and Kerry the rest of the evening. He asked me out for the next weekend, and 4 1/2 years later we tied the knot. He was a welcome addition to my family, and a great Stepdad to my two kids. Alas, some things are not meant to last forever.
I haven´t seen him in many years, but the memories of 8 years of amazing times still continue to brighten my day.
Randy was truly a very smart and fun-loving man. I know he will be missed by many. Condolences to Holly and Laurie and Family, and many friends.
Love,

24 years ago my husband Glenn called Randy at R & R Gage to purchase gages from him, and that´s where it all began for us. When Glenn met Randy they soon found out that they were from the same town and went to the same high school in Greendale, WI. Although, 4 years difference in age, it was truly amazing to meet a fellow Greendaler and a Packer fan in GA. We were new to GA and Randy was gracious enough to invite us to go with him to the NASCAR race at Atlanta Motor Speedway and we went with him to every race there for 10 years. Later that first year, he invited us to go watch a Packer game at TJ´s Sports Bar and Grill, where we met some awesome Packer fans. We went to TJ´s for every Sunday game and shared a table with Randy and others. I can´t say enough about the fun we also had at his lake home. We had many years of friendship and fun! We will always thank Randy for introducing us to many people that are in our lives today. Our condolences go out to Randy´s family and friends and our utmost sympathy. May he Rest in Peace! Randy was always enjoying the lake. I remember almost every year, our family would take the boat to watch fireworks on July 4th. Randy always seemed to be on his dock when we returned, enjoying his own fireworks. It sometimes seemed like we were dodging enemy fire while pulling back into our dock. He and whoever was with him were having a blast, thinking how funny it was to watch us think he was going to hit us. There were many times we would sit on our docks just across from each other telling funny stories about think going on.
