Randall Mark Gowman

Randall Mark Gowman (Randy), 73, of Hamilton, MA, went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2024. He was born on December 5, 1950, to the late Kenneth and Betty (Sursaw) Gowman. The second oldest of their four children, he was raised in Detroit, Michigan. Growing up, Randy enjoyed spending time being active outdoors and with family at their summer cottage on Walpole Island. Randy attended Baptist College in Grand Rapids, MI where he would meet his future wife, Gail Feenstra. He worked during the summers as a camp counselor and also for General Motors in the limo division. Randy earned his Master's degree in Christian Education from Baptist Theological Seminary. He went on to serve as Christian Education Director at Open Bible Church in Grand Rapids and later attended Western Michigan University, earning his Master's degree in Library Science.
Randy and Gail married on August 10, 1974, and started their family in Grand Rapids, MI. In October 1984, Randy accepted a job as the Reference Librarian at Gordon College and he, Gail and their two young sons moved from Michigan to Massachusetts. They settled in Asbury Grove in Hamilton, where they would remain for the next forty years, eventually welcoming their daughter in 1994. Randy worked at Gordon College, later becoming the Assistant Director of the Library, until his retirement in June 2019. For many years, Randy was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Hamilton where the family attended. Randy leaves his son, David, and his wife, Anne, of Ipswich, his son, Joel, and his wife, Melody, of Washington, PA, his daughter, Kelsi, and her husband, Sean Donovan, of Ipswich, and his six grandchildren, Gabriel, Mark, Annabella, Emma, Anika and Bridget.
In addition to his children, grandchildren and wife of nearly fifty years, Randy is also survived by his sister, Sandy, and her husband Joseph Kopchick, his brother, Fred Gowman, and his wife, Linda, his mother-in-law, Dorothy Feenstra, and his brother-in-law, Gary Feenstra and his wife, Diane, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his sister, Debbie, and her husband, Jerry Booth.
