Obituary of Randall L. Hill
Randall (Randy) L. Hill, aged 60 of Genesee passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, with his beloved wife, nephew Josh and niece Michelle by his side. Randy was born on November 4, 1963, at Maryvale Hospital in Phoenix, AZ to the late Paul and Betty Hill and would often joke that his twin sister pushed him out of the way so that she could be born first, making him the youngest of six siblings. In November 1981 Randy asked his sister to introduce him to her friend Peggy Hingiss, a homeroom classmate and she obliged making his birthday wish come true. Randy and Peggy dated for seven happy years, graduated from Waukesha North High School in 1982 and were married on August 26, 1989, at Pretty Lake in Dousman. Together Randy and Peggy fostered a network of friends in Waukesha and the surrounding area, their home was always open to friends and family for holidays, special occasions, or a quick conversation on a random visit. Their Pig Roast filled the yard with friends and family. Randy was proud to supervise the grill to ensure a tasty meal and was a fixture assisting at the Pretty Lake Corn roast for many years. Friends, family, and food were the centerpieces of his life, and his joyous laughter and quick wit made every celebration he attended grander.
Randy had a successful career in the automobile service industry working for different establishments, most recently River Crest Tire and Auto Service Center in Mukwonago. Randy loved cars and was a lifelong Chevrolet fan cherishing his 1995 Chevrolet Silverado and his wife's classic 1973 Camaro. A jack of all trades and able to fix everything that his friends and family brought to him from boat motors to convertible tops, no mechanical puzzle put in front of him was left unsolved. If Randy did not know the answer, he knew someone who did! Randy took great pride in his yard, and was known for the perfect "mow" in the summer and the perfect "blow" in the winter. An avid NASCAR fan Randy traveled multiple times to the Daytona 500 as well as races in Joliet, Charlotte and Indianapolis always leaning toward cheering for "Team Chevy"! In addition, Randy was a Harley rider, enjoyed camping in his 5th wheel and traveling.
Randy is survived by his wife of thirty four years, Peggy, his twin sister, Robyn (Peter) Zimmermann of Hartland, a step-sister, Jill (Brian) Friend of Winchester, IN, his mother-in-law, Ruth Hingiss of Lake Worth, FL, sister-in-law Janice Milbrath of Watertown and brothers-in-law: Richard and Kurt Hingiss, both of Lake Worth, FL, Barry Hingiss of Waukesha, Scott Hingiss (Jim) of Oconomowoc and Mark Hingiss (Mary Jo) of Hometown, WV, nephews and nieces, many of whom he considered his own children as well as countless friends including his feline companion, Wilma.
Proceeded in death by his parents, Paul Hill and Betty Hill, his sister Susan Behan and brothers, Scott Behan, David Hill and Daniel Hill as well as his father-in-law William Hingiss, brothers-in-law, Gordon Milbrath, John Hingiss and his dear friend Earl Faulkner.
The celebration of life for Randall will be held on Sunday january 21, 2024 from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at Backstreet Pub, 711 Morgan Ave Waukesha, WI 53188.
The kind of man who was always "there" for his family and friends, the old saying, "You'll find out who your friends are" aptly applies to the way that Randy lived his life. It did not matter what others were facing, Randy was the first one to come alongside and offer help, putting personal plans on hold to address the needs of others was at the core of who this humble man was. There was never a challenge faced that Randy wouldn't offer to assist with. A life lived with gusto and limitless passion for his family and friends, Randy will be dearly missed and immensely loved forever.
"How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard"- Milne
