Randall G. Ray, a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on April 9, 2024, in Lapeer, Michigan, at the age of 68. Born on October 28, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, Randall grew up to be a man of great character, known for his loving nature, handy skills, and generous spirit.
Randall's life was rich with the love of his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela, with whom he shared a beautiful journey filled with laughter and mutual support. Together, they raised a family that includes Lisa (Jason) Ray-Mirza, Randall (Kimberly) Ray, Stewart (Cheryl) Miller, and Kristie Lawrence. Randall was a beacon of wisdom and love for his eight grandchildren: Bella, Gabriella, Corey, Kayla, Cassie, Nathaniel, Ronan, and Miles, who will miss their grandfather's gentle guidance and infectious smile.
He was a beloved brother to Russell (Su) Ray, Ronnie (Debbie) Ray, and Robin (Mike) Staton. His nieces and nephews, Christopher, Alicia, Glen, Russell, Katie, April, Chet, and Travis, will remember him fondly for his playful teasing and the warmth he brought to family gatherings. Randall was preceded in death by his parents, Gallie and Clarice, and his aunt Lois, who were undoubtedly there to welcome him with open arms.
Randall's professional life was marked by his dedication to RJ Ray Distributing, from which he retired in 2015. His colleagues knew him as a man who brought not only his expertise but also his genuine care for others to the workplace every day. Beyond his work, Randall had a passion for the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid fisherman, finding solace and joy in the calm waters and the thrill of the catch. His love for working on cars was more than a hobby; it was a way for him to connect with friends, solve problems, and share his knowledge with anyone interested in learning. He once received Neighbor of the Year for looking after his neighbors.
