Randy Squires, age 66, formerly of Brandt, SD, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD. Memorial service will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at the Highland Lutheran Church in Brandt, SD. Burial will be in the Highland Lutheran Cemetery, Brandt, SD. Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD and will resume Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD is entrusted with the arrangements.
Randall Hale Squires was born January 15, 1959 in Hendricks, Minnesota to Ralph and Stella (Nielsen) Squires. Randy grew up on the farm near Brandt, South Dakota. Randy attended country school at Mount Pleasant District 22 and completed his education in Hendricks, MN. Farm life was very important to Randy. He enjoyed flowers and gardening. Nothing would compare with his love for family. Randy kept track of family birthdays and made sure they all got a card or a phone call.
Randy enjoyed going to ball games that his nieces and nephews played in, and he was a fan of the Vikings and Twins. Randy passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD at the age of 66.
Grateful for sharing his life are his brothers Roger (Helen) Squires, Hayti, SD, and Ronold (Cheryl) Squires, Estelline, SD; sister Sandy (Dave) Solem, Clear Lake, SD and brother-in-law, Kevin Scotting of DeSmet, SD. Randy will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Stella Squires and sister Alona Scotting.
