Beverly Ann Lunde

Beverly Lunde, age 83, of Baltic, SD passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025 in her home. Funeral service will be at 10 am on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Highland Lutheran Church in Brandt, SD. Burial will be in the Highland Lutheran Cemetery, Brandt, SD. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 pm on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Highland Lutheran Church in Brandt and will resume Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD is entrusted with the arrangements.
Beverly Ann Lunde was born on April 25, 1942 in Hendricks, Minnesota to Arnold and Ruth (Olson) Nielsen. She was raised near Brandt, SD where she attended and graduated from Brandt High School. She was baptized and confirmed at the Highland Lutheran Church in Brandt.
On December 23, 1961, Bev was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Donald Lunde at the Highland Lutheran Church in Brandt. This union was blessed with three boys and one girl. In 2011, Pastor Carlene Rhody officiated as Bev and Don renewed their wedding vows at Highland Lutheran Church in celebration of 50 years of marriage. Several of Don's love poems written for Bev were read that day.
Following their marriage, they lived in Watertown, SD. In 1977 Don and Bev moved their young family to Sioux Falls, SD due to Don's work relocation. While in Sioux Falls, Bev was a Manager at McDonald's for many years.
In 2010, Don and Bev became snowbirds, spending the winter months in Alamo, TX. Here they made many friends and enjoyed having their northern relatives come south to visit. On June 19, 2016 Don passed away. Bev kept their home on Big Stone Lake but then moved to Baltic, SD to be closer to family. Bev passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 at her home in Baltic at the age of 83.
Bev is lovingly remembered by her four children: Michael Lunde, Great Mills, MD, Ron Lunde, Hartford, SD, Daniel Lunde, Trent, SD and Ann (Troy) Thompson, Baltic, SD; one granddaughter, Abby Thompson; siblings: Alvin (Judy) Nielsen, Brandt, SD, David (Leanna) Nielsen and Diane Helmberger, Spearfish, SD; sister-in-law, Kathie (Larry) Olson, Gary, SD; brother-in-law, Robert (Rita) Lunde, Florence, SD; many nieces and nephews; and her son's bonus families.
Bev was preceded in death by her husband Don; grandson Adam; parents, Arnold and Ruth Nielsen; daughter-in-law, Petri and brother Harlan Nielsen.
