Randolph Dwight "Randy" Ownbey, age 72, of Louisville returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born on May 23, 1952, to the late Howard "Curly" and Nora Bell (Rodgers) Ownbey. Randy liked football, especially watching the Kentucky Wildcats play. He liked cars and earned his Black Belt in karate. Randy was one of the South End "Jacob Boys". His true passion was his family; especially spending time with them in the pool. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lana Beyerle and Linda Gollar and his fur-baby, Khloe Ann.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 29 years, Darla Judd-Ownbey; daughter, Wendy Brown (Herbie); grandson, Austin Brown; brother, Larry Ownbey; fur-baby, Sophie Grace and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, sister-in-law and other family and friends.
Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) in charge of arrangements where the family chose cremation. The family will have a memorial service to celebrate Randy's life at a later date.
Expressions of sympathy to the Kentucky Humane Society in honor of Randy are appreciated.
