Randolph Craig Stroot

 

Randolph Craig Stroot, 72, was born on June 25, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on June 11, 2023 surrounded by his loving family in his Huffman, Texas home. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold & Mary Ann Stroot. Randolph (Randy) is survived by his loving wife, Juanita (Janie) Stroot, of 45 years of marriage, only son Alejandro (Alex) Stroot & wife Soila, daughters Adrienne (Andie) Garcia & husband Pete Jr., Catherine (Cathy) Walker & husband Timothy, brothers Harold Stroot & wife Cynthia, Lawrence Stroot & wife Linda, Wayne Stroot & wife Robin, Jonathan Stroot & wife Serena, five grandchildren Corienne Garcia, Victoria Garcia, Pete Garcia III, Alexis Garcia, Alexander Stroot, and one great grandchild Ethan Garcia.

Randy was born in St. Louis, MO.  The middle child of Harold & Mary Ann Stroot, with 2 older brothers and 2 younger brothers. Harold & Mary Ann had their hands full with a house full of growing boys.  He attended Catholic grade school until the family moved to Fenton, MO where he graduated high school at Fox High School.  Randy had a knack for electronics and was hired at Southwestern Bell (SWB), now AT&T, as a communications technician.  At this time, the United States was at war with Vietnam.  Randy proudly joined the US Coast Guard to service his country for 3 years of active duty. After returning home, he continued working for SWB.  An opportunity came available to transfer to the Houston area, that he gladly accepted.  Little did he know, that in Houston, he would meet the love of his life, Janie Stroot who also worked at SWB.  They would spend 45 amazing years together raising 3 children, Adrienne, Alex & Cathy. 

During retirement, Randolph and Janie loved to travel.  They loved to experience different cultures and see what the world had to offer.  Their expeditions included once in a lifetime trips to Spain, Gibraltar, Morocco, Portugal, Italy, France, Belgium, Luxemburg, England, Hong Kong, Russia, Argentina, Brazil, Ireland, Chile, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Victoria B.C., Mexico, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Japan, Czech Republic, and Greece.  They also traveled in the US visiting Alaska, Washington DC, Niagara Falls, Maine, and Hawaii.  Some of their greatest memories were traveling the world. 

Along with their travels, Randy spent the past twenty years working diligently on building his and Janie’s forever home.  Their beautiful home is evidence of the many talents of this incredible man.

Randy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be sorely missed.
