Randy W. Baugher, 65, of Bethalto, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025 after a short battle of cancer.
Born on April 26, 1960, in Alton, Illinois, Randy spent the latter part of his life in the Bethalto area where he built a life rooted in hard work, humor, and heart.
Randy devoted over 40 years of his life working on the river, a career that reflected his steady hands and strong spirit. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple things-fishing, tending to his garden, and faithfully playing the lotto. He was always quick with a joke or a playful jab, but those who knew him best understood that beneath the teasing was a generous man who would help anyone in need.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Tina Baugher; his son, Tim (Becca) Baugher; and his stepchildren, Toby (Laura) Roberson and Tara (Brian) Brooks. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Sarah Baugher, Eli Baugher, Jesse Baugher, Taylor Brooks, Alia Brooks, and Kenzie Roberson. He is also survived by a sister and brother, Myra Humphries and Terry Tummelson.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Betty (Kroeschel) Baugher, and his brothers, Mike and Eddie Baugher.
In keeping with Randy's wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services will be held.
Those wishing to honor his memory may do so through a kind gesture to someone in need or by donating to a charity of their choice.
