In Loving Memory of Randy O. Bruce

November 29, 1955 – October 3, 2025

Randy O. Bruce, of Edinburgh, a brilliant engineer, devoted philanthropist, and lover of music and reading, passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 69 peacefully at his home.

Born in Independence, Missouri, on November 29, 1955, to Orville Bruce and Minnie E. Bruce (née Elliott), Randy carried with him a deep sense of curiosity and purpose from a young age. He graduated from Missouri University of Science and Technology with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, which led to a long and meaningful career. He retired from Cummins after many years of dedicated service as a systems engineer, where his innovation and leadership left a lasting impact.

Randy lived a life full of curiosity, compassion, and quiet strength. Whether he was designing solutions at work or lost in a good book, he brought thoughtfulness and integrity to everything he did.

A voracious reader and lifelong student, Randy believed that knowledge was a gift meant to be pursued, shared, and used in service of others. He filled shelves with books, marked pages with curiosity, and lit up conversations with thoughtful insight.

His love for learning was matched only by his love for giving - always ready with a helping hand, kind word, or generous act. Music was his constant companion, bringing joy and reflection to his days. His sharp mind and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He leaves behind family, friends, and colleagues who were inspired by his dedication, humility, and heart.

Randy is survived by his great-niece Ashley Soria, her children Declan, Landynn, and Waylon, and his great-niece Alisha Soria - all of whom he loved dearly and who will carry forward his memory with love and pride.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place and no services are planned at this time.
