Sheila Ann Bruce, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, in Barnesville, Georgia. Born on April 18, 1944, in Montgomery, Alabama,

The daughter of the late Howard Grady Barnes and Gladys Josephine Knott Barnes, Sheila carried the legacy of her parents' warmth and kindness throughout her life. She was a beloved wife to the late Tommy Bruce; sister of the late, Joan Stephens.

Sheila dedicated many years of service to the State of Alabama before her retirement, during which she made countless friends and left an indelible mark on all who worked with her.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Sheila's zest for life was evident in her love for the Casino's, the thrill of the Dog Races, and the simple pleasure of spending quality time with her family. Sheila was an avid Alabama Fan "Roll Tide", was a woman of humor and spirit, always ready to share a funny story or embark on a spontaneous adventure. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence could light up any room.

She leaves behind a legacy through her children, Kim Allen (Phillip), Craig Bruce (Kelli), Greg Bruce (Kim), and Tammy Bruce. Her grandchildren, Amber Livley (Kris), Robby Bruce, and Tanner Bruce, will fondly remember their grandmother's boundless energy and unwavering support. Her great-grandson, Stetson Livley, will grow up hearing tales of Sheila's vivacious spirit.

Also mourning her passing are her sisters, Jean Marott (Rick) and Gai Wendling (Rick); her brother, Bubba Barnes (Angie); and several devoted nieces and nephews. Each of them holds precious memories of Sheila's love and laughter. Her pet companion, Bella, will surely miss her gentle touch and the comfort of her presence.

Sheila was a woman of simple wishes, and it was her request for cremation and a family memorial to be held later. This final act reflects her desire for her loved ones to remember her in their hearts and through the joyous times they shared.

In her passing, Sheila leaves behind more than just memories; she leaves a blueprint for living life with a smile, for being a friend to all, and for cherishing every moment with those you love.
