Randy Mark Cooper, aged 68, of McDermott, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born on May 1, 1957, Portsmouth, Randy dedicated much of his life to serving others as the weatherization coordinator for Community Action, leaving a lasting impact on his community.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Cooper; his mother, Betty Craft Stapleton; and his four brothers: John Cooper, Rick Cooper, William Stapleton, and Henry (stillborn).
Randy is remembered by his two sons, Randy (Tiffany) Cooper and Chance (Shelly) Cooper; his daughter, Amy (Travis) Cowden; his siblings, Al Cooper, Leonard Stapleton, Steve Cooper; Angela (Ralph) Reed, lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Katherine (Gabe) Bailey, Emma (Will) Stallions, Julie Cowden, Callie Cooper, Skyler Cooper, Taylor Holley, Aubrey Holley, and Blake Suthers, also great-grandson, James Bailey. In addition to his family, Randy is mourned by his companion, Nikki Sides, her four children, her fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his special friend, Rusty Johnson.
The family appreciates everyone’s thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville.
